Mountains such as the Zischgeles (3,005 metres), Lampsenspitze (2,867 metres) and Lüsener Fernerkogel (3,298 metres) are among the most coveted ski touring destinations. No matter which tour you choose, the efforts of the ascent will be rewarded with fantastic downhill runs.

Lampsenspitze - 2,875 m

Very nice and easy ski tour, which is one of the most popular ski tours in the rear Sellraintal because of its sunny eastern location. It is also known for the annual wild horse race, which always takes place at the beginning of March.
The tour is usually well groomed and, with a reasonable choice of routes, is hardly dangerous for avalanches.
Requirement: easy

Zischgeles - 3,004 m

Very nice and popular ski tour in the rear Sellraintal, which is usually well groomed. A rewarding three-thousand meter tour with a magnificent panorama and a magnificent descent. The spectacular "Wildsaur race" takes place every year in March at the Zischgeles.
Requirement: difficult

Praxmarer Grieskogel - 2,710 m

Beautiful and not overcrowded ski tour, which is due to the sunny east position of the slope a very popular destination for ski tourers. In spring there is a great firn tour.

Schöntalspitze - 3,002 m

Wonderful ski tour in the middle of the Stubai Alps with fantastic slopes and good conditions. The downhill skiing is a pure skiing pleasure. One slope is more beautiful than the other. The ascent is mostly groomed and you are rarely alone.

Austria’s first ski tour educational trail

Safety during ski tours is the subject of Austria’s first ski tour educational trail. It leads up to the Lampsenspitze in Praxmar and provides important information about avalanche awareness on large display boards. More information can be found here.

Luis Melmer from Alpengasthof Praxmar initiated this project; Paul Mair from Verein für Erlebnis und Sicherheit (“Association for Adventure and Safety”) developed it further together with the Tyrol Avalanche Warning Service.
