AVALANCHE WARNINGS
Checking the current avalanche situation is essential when you go on a ski tour. The Melmer family from Alpengasthof Praxmar know what is important in the mountains.
A total of five danger levels make it much easier for you to decide whether you should start a ski tour. Great caution is required on steep slopes in particular. Find out more about the different avalanche danger levels.

AVALANCHE WARNINGS
INTERPRET CORRECTLY
- Avalanche warning level 1 low - Avalanche triggering is generally only possible with high additional loads** in isolated places in extremely steep terrain nde . Only slides and small avalanches are possible spontaneously.
The snowpack is generally well consolidated and stable.
- Avalanche warning level 2 is possible, particularly in the event of heavy additional loads, especially on the indicated steep slopes. Large spontaneous avalanches are not to be expected. The snowpack is only moderately consolidated on some steep slopes, otherwise generally well consolidated.
- Avalanche warning level level 3 considerable - Avalanche triggering is possible even with low additional load**, especially on the indicated steep slopes m possible. Occasionally, some medium, but occasionally also large avalanches are possible.
The snow cover on many steep slopes is only moderately to weakly consolidated.
- Avalanche warning level 4 - Avalanche triggering is likely on numerous steep slopes even with low additional loads**. In some cases, many medium and several large avalanches are to be expected
The snowpack is weakly consolidated on most steep slopes
. - Avalanche warning level 5 very large - Spontaneously many large, several times also very large avalanches are to be expected, also in moderately steep terrain.
The snow cover is generally weakly consolidated and largely unstable.
You should not undertake a ski tour. The risk of triggering an avalanche is very high, even on moderately steep terrain.
