Hiking with Kids in Sellraintal

Easy-hiking Praxmar
Praxmar – Fernerboden
Walking time: 1 hour, degree of difficulty: blue
From the parking lot on the beautiful forest trail into the valley to Alpengasthof Lisens. From here continue on the still pretty flat trail to the end of the valley in Fernerboden.

Praxmar – Juifenau – Gries
Walking time: 1.5 hours, degree of difficulty: blue
First walk up the double bends on the road, the panorama trail stars on the left at the bridge, go past the waterfall to Juifenau and continue on to Gries or walk on the left side of the stream to Gries via the hamlet of Narötz (a bit shorter).

Nature and glacier trail Praxmar
The nature adventure trail for the whole family starts at the Alpengasthof Praxmar. The path leads to Lüsens through the Zirben-Bergwald alongside a stream. On a distance of 2.5 km you will be able to read interesting facts about the fauna and flora of Sellraintal and the development of glaciers to the present day. A natural viewing platform with a magnificent panoramic view completes your hike. A perfect hike for the whole family.

Praxmar Kogelhütte – Bergersee (roundtrip possible)
Starting at the Alpengasthof Praxmar, this cozy and beautiful round hike leads over the Kogelhütte to the Bergersee. It goes through a wonderful pine forest and across green meadows.

Gries – Sellrain
This beautiful hike leads along three churches and the crossroad Gries in Sellrain and Sellrain. You will pass traditional farms, cozy squares and great vantage points, the pilgrimage church of St. Quirin and the St. Anna church in Sellrain.

Hike to the Gleirschalm
This hike is perfect for families and is also a great summer destination in the Sellraintal. From the parking lot in St. Sigmund in Sellrain it goes into the Gleirschtal. After a short time you can see the great forest playground – a true paradise for children. From the playground it is only a short distance to the Gleirschalm through the forest and over a beautiful alpine meadow. 

Hike to the Sonnbergalm
The Sonnbergalm is located above St. Sigmund and is perfect for a leisurely hike for the whole family. After about 1 hour you reach the Sonnbergalm on the sunny side of the Sellraintal, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the valley.

Hike to the Juifenalm
From the parking lot it goes through serpentines through the forest towards the hunting lodge. From there it goes over pastures to the Juifenalm, from where you can enjoy the unique panoramic view of the Zischgeles, Lampsenspitze, Grießkogel and Freiheit. For children there is also a private pig enclosure directly at the pasture.

The Minor´s Trail Kühtai
Embark on a hike into the past. The Minor´s Trail leads from Oetz to Vent and ends in front of the Wildspitze, the highest mountain in North Tyrol. The Minor´s Trail as leg of the Adlerweg takes you to the mysterious world of mining, the ox cart and the tunnels at 2,500 m.
